Elm lodge in Ellesmere

We stayed in Elm lodge as a family of 3 and thought it was great. Lovely, quiet, relaxing location.

The lodge exceeded our expection, it was clean, warm and spacious. The lodge has everything you need, was homely and loved the little extras such as a christmas tree!. The kitchen was well equiped, plenty of utensils and even a dishwasher. The hottub was lovely, easy to use and relaxing. The lodge had freeview tv and free wifi, although the signal wasn't the strongest but we didn't mind that.

There are only 11 lodges on site and it did feel like you were the only ones there at times. The negatives were, there wasn't a play ground as advertised and the beds weren't very comfortable but overall we had a very relaxing stay and would definitely stay again.

Lodge in Shropshire

With friends or by ourselves, occasionally with our dog. We have by now staid in most of the lodges and a number of lodges several times. The lodges are always clean and tidy on arrival. Well equipped and spacious. The staff clearly take pride in their work. The tubs are clean and then serviced each morning.

Set in a wooded area just outside Ellesmere Woodlands has easy access into Shropshire, North and Mid-Wales, Chester areas. Do your research in advance and you'll easily fill a week's stay with many interesting places to go, things to see and do all withn easy access.

The beds, linen and towels are always clean and fresh. There are dog friendly lodges however you'd not know there had been dogs there previously.

The tubs are mostly quite private and concealed from neighbours near an far, however they are not completely out of eyesight but so what! You won't care after a wine or six in the tubs!

For a small town Ellesmere has pubs, restaurants, a good hardware store as well as a Tesco.

In all the times we have staid, while there have been parties in other lodges they've never been anti-social behaviour. Just the sounds of others having fun. I recommend Woodlands Lodges.

Elm lodge

Stayed in the elm lodge which is tucked away at top of a small cluster of approx 6 lodges, absolute heaven for me and my husband it was so peaceful and being in the woods was perfect (and they are definitely in the wood).

Sometimes we felt like the only people there, the lodge was lovely and warm and cosy with a nice bedroom with dressing area attached, we would definitely go back again for a short break it was wonderful.

Hawthorn lodge

Just returned from the lodges and what a fabulous week we have had. We stayed in the Hawthorn, spotless wooden lodge with three bedrooms and of course a hot tub. The location was perfect and situated ideally for the surrounding area and relaxation.

There was no hairdryer but one short text to Ian and voila delivered, brand new! The area is kept tidy and not overcrowded. We will definitely return.

Hawthorn lodge in Ellesmere

We had the most lovely weekend at woodland park lodges. We hired Hawthorn lodge and were delighted with the size, so spacious, clean and very comfortable. The lodge had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The hot tub was so nice and warm and easy to use.

The site was peaceful and other holiday makers were pleasant. We enjoyed the woodland walk as did our two dogs.

The local area had a great chippy and a few nice shops. We enjoyed walking around the mere and our visit to colemere where we did a great walk. Can’t wait to return.

Lodge for hire in Ellesmere

Had a weekend away at the park, very quiet and peaceful. Ellesmere is only a short drive away and we had a lovely afternoon walking around the canal/sculpture trail. We parked on the Tesco carpark to do the walk.

The town itself is a bit dowdy and many closed shops but i guess that's what happens when a big store moves into a small town.

The lodge itself was clean and the beds were made up with a large and small towel for each guest. The heating worked really well and we were all cosy.

There were six of us staying, and as i said in the title it was a bit awkward at times when someone wanted a shower and had to wait while someone else was either showering or using the toilet. especially a problem when people got out of the hot tub and all wanted a shower!

The cooker wasn't the quickest to cook things, but when your relaxing you don't mind waiting a little longer.

We enjoyed the use of the hot tub but were surprised we had to top it up ourselves and there were no chemicals left to put in, i should imagine after 3 or 4 days it wouldn't be a nice place to sit in without the water being maintained but again we were there over a weekend so perhaps this is done more regularly in the week.

The woodland walk was sign posted at the start but no other signs were visible on the trail and we did meet a few dead ends.

Overall a good weekend away and if there had been a slightly better cooker and an extra bathroom and perhaps a daily check on the hot tub? it would have got an excellent score

Shropshire lodge for hire

Nothing more to say other than fantastic. Exactly what we wanted when we started looking for somewhere to stay. Perfect location, perfect lodge with everything we needed.

Hot tub was perfect and the lodge was spotless. Staff are really friendly and very helpful.

Would highly recommend this place. Just a short 25 minute drive to our spa day in Llangollen.

Ellesmere lodge for hire

Our second time here for a weekend in 4 years. It’s such a lovely place and so well run by the owners.

From the moment you get there until the moment you leave, the whole experience is amazing. The sound of rain on the roof while you are inside the lovely warm log cabin is fantastic.

Set in a large wood, the amount of wildlife is wonderful to see. We’ll be booking up again soon for next year and not leaving it so long as we did before!

Woodland park lodge

I and a group of 5 friends recently stayed at woodland park lodges, the lodge we stayed in was the cedar lodge.

Prior to our arrival a receptionist called me to explain the check in procedure as we were arriving after reception was closed. They explained everything clearly and also gave directions to the lodge as the postcode sends you to the farm next door. Upon arrival there is a car park for each group of lodges, ours was the furthest away but no more than a 100m walk. The lodge itself was the cedar which sleeps 6, 2x double rooms and 1 king size room. The lodge is set in beautiful woodland surrounded by nature with a outdoor covered seating/bbq area and also the outdoor hot tub.

Inside the lodge it had everything we needed for a 3 night stay, plenty of storage in each bedroom. Large open plan kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean, the dishwasher and washing machine were a massive bonus!

The whole place was very clean, nice and comfortable beds also. There were a few spiders/ moths but we expected that being in the middle of the forest. Only small issue we had was only 2 toilet rolls between 6 people for a 3 night stay, not to much of a issue at there is a Tesco in the town around 3 miles away. There was a groundsman round every morning to check the hot tub pH levels and he also asked if we had any problems.

All in all we had a fantastic relaxing stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back again, only next time we will stay for the full week. 5*
